A Business Trip Into The Future.

My exhilaration and anxiety began to heighten as we hit the four-lane highway - we were in the city now - DC, to be exact.  Our itinerary was packed, and thinking about this trip weeks ahead had me feeling more fear than excitement - but it was time to face it.  Once we arrived in the hub of downtown DC, my nerves quickly settled, and I began to have fun.  Dressing like professionals, eating like royals, and learning like students was a lovely way to spend spring break.  We had so many engaging discussions with so many influential figures that the days flew by in no time, and I was left wanting more.

As with any business trip - especially ones with flamboyant barely adults -this trip also had its fair load of after-hour shenanigans.  Staying in an upscale hotel in the middle of the city has its perks, such as allowing for a late-night Chipotle dinner (eaten in the hotel lobby) and a professor-included run to Baskin- Robbins after a long business day.  Because even professionals need a big burrito and a double scoop of soft serve sometimes.  And, like always, most of the days ended in one of our rooms, cracking jokes, munching on mints (yes, that was me), and getting hyped about our future.

This trip allowed me to gain great courage and grow even closer to each of my peers through serious conversations and many goofy moments.  As my sophomore year of college is coming to a close, I often ponder my future.  And if life amongst peers is this exhilarating off the college campus, I can’t wait to be a businesswoman in the real world someday soon.
